Marijke ter Voert is a Professor of Empirical Legal Studies at Radboud University. Empirical Legal Studies focuses on research into law in practice and aims to stimulate empirical research within legal science. She conducts research in the field of judicial and extrajudicial dispute settlement, access to justice, legal aid and legal professions. Within the Conflict-Resolving Institutions and Digital Legal Studies that are part of the national Sector Plan Law, she focuses on the following research themes: the relationship between jurisdiction and extrajudicial forms of dispute settlement; the legitimacy and quality of justice and the use of digital technologies in conflict resolution.
